We have an open game on Sunday, August 30th at 1:00 at 700 North and 200 West. $10.00 covers field fee and all day air. I don't know if we will have any paint but regardless you can bring your own paint.

I also need to know who is going to Michigan so I can make hotel reservations. I need to know who needs smoking and/or non-smoking rooms. I also need to know who can drive and who needs a ride. I am shopping prices for different hotels and i will let you know what they are as soon as I can.

Remember...Open game on Sunday, August 30th at 1:00 at 700 and 200.

The summer night game has come and gone. "Nightmare on Raymond Street" was a fun and well controlled game. The players who showed up had a blast and the fighting was fierce for both games.

Unfortunately the F.O.G. attendance at the game was disappointingly low.... almost non-existant !!! We had eight team members show up and since it was us against them we got our butts kicked both games!!! Regardless we had an enjoyable time and once again the gang at Indy Acres bent over backwards to make sure we had what we needed to pull the game off successfully.  It worked!!!

Scott and his guys supplied us with power, lights and a great group of refs to handle the game. They treated us like family and like I said earlier gave us what we needed to get the games going. Scott also gave us a great team price for field fees, air and paint. Too bad more F.O.G. members didn't show up to take advantage of these prices. You would have enjoyed yourselves immensely!!!

I am going to give some thoughts since I have had a week to think about this. Mike R. worked hard to get the prices for the game down. If you do the math it was only about $5.00 more than our open games. With all the phone calls and e-mails Mike and I were getting about the game we were counting on having a strong F.O.G. turn out. Mike had membership cards made out for everybody so none of us would lose out on these prices. Needless to say that Mike and I were disappointed at the team turnout. This was our game and to have only 8 team members show up was a slap in the face to both of us!!! This also doesn't give us more bargaining power for future games!

Scott didn't seem to mind or he didn't say anything. He is already making preparations for the Children of the Corn game right now. He has actually planted maze corn which will be up at game time and he will cut mazes in it for the players to use. This game is tentatively set for November 7th. It is quite evident that Indy acres loves night games and they are more than willing to give us what we need to make these games memorable. We also plan to have some open games at their facility. Of course I shouldn't have to say this..but I will...we need more team members to show up and show that F.O.G. is willing to put our money where our mouths are. The time for talking it up is over !!! It is time to put up or shut up !!!

I would like to thank the F.O.G. members who did show up. A real special thank you goes out to Donnie, who would have showed up at anytime or anywhere..as always. Thanks to Steve S. who has been laying low for a bit but who showed up when we needed him. Thanks to Tom and his son who are new to the team but have been showing up at the open games and showed up that night when it counted the most. Thanks to Jason, who is also new but showed that he knew this meant a lot to the team. Of course we have to give thanks to Joe. He has been playing with us for a while now and he is definetly a player you can count on. Seems like we have a new core group of players!!!

Last, but definitely not least, F.O.G. will always remember the hard work Mike R. put in to pull this off !!! He didn't make a dime for all of his hard work and without him we would have had to pay full price!!! Thanks, Mike!!!

Next open game is July 12th at 1:00 at 700 north and 200 West.

Also ...don't forget about Michigan. If you have any questions please contact me . Pre-reg ends August 1st.

The 5-31 game was a blast !! We had about 18 players and once again some new faces showed up as well as a couple of old and familiar faces..and I do mean OLD !!!

Tony Lawrence and his brother Jim showed up with a couple of their nephews and it has been a long time since we have seen them on the field. Tony is a former team Captain and a F.O.G. Life member. Jim is a Life Member and a Michigan regular whenever we go. They played very well as usual although movement was a little slower. Jim IS old.... Their nephews played pretty good too. All in all we had a very nice day...did you ?

We do have a Night Game coming up on June 27th at Indyacres. Same place where the Corn game was held last year. More info will be coming and check out the website as some info is already there.

Our next game is scheduled for Sunday,June 14th at 1:00 at 700 North and 200 West. This will be our 5th game of the year. Mike R. is also working on the schedule for future open games but figure on a game every two weeks. Check the Games and Events page for more info.

The next game will also be a membership meeting as the special pricing for the Night Game is for members only. Member fees are $5.00 a month and this is a very good deal. You can bring your own paint even though we will have paint on the field. The supply is running out and when it is gone we won't be selling any more paint.

05-17 game went off splendidly. The new bunkers worked out great. The field was wet but this didn't hamper movement at all. All areas of the field were used and exploited to try and outflank the opposition.

Be aware...you now have to keep an eye out for Charlie as he is turning into one sneaky player as I found out a couple of times during the day. Also don't let Mike R. get to you either. He is loud AND obnoxious but that is only to draw attention away from the rest of his team while they move on you. If you are not paying attention you will pay dearly !!!

We have had some newbies coming out and they are playing very well. They are young ,fast, fearless and they are learning very quickly !!! As a group they will soon be a force to be reckoned with...

But us old guys can still hold our own. We may be slow and long in the tooth and our eyesight leaves a little to be desired but we can still shoot straight and hit our target...if we can see it !!

Sorry it has taken me so long to catch up. The games on 4-11 and 5-3 went off as planned. We had 16-18 players at both games and the fights were intense.

Charlie and Craig went out and put up some new bunkers on both ends of the field and they are working out great. They also had a moment of enlightenment and on one end of the field they numbered the bunkers on both sides and on the other end they lettered them on both sides making it much easier to call out targets and letting players call out which bunkers they are moving to no matter which side teams are starting on. Very nice !! Team communication will be much easier !!
Come out and see for yourself.

It's a new year guys and it's time to start playing again. As of right now we are looking for more fields to play on. We can still play at Indy Acres but we have to pay a field fee. Mike is working on a team deal but it is not anchored down right now.

Marc R. has found a place around Mooresville to play for free but I haven't looked at the field yet. I don't think we can build any permanent bunkers on it. We might build some take down bunkers and make use of the air bunkers.

We can still play at Donnie's as a stop gap measure. As you all know the field long and very narrow but it is still playable.

So that's how it stands right now. If any of you have found a place to play or have any ideas PLEASE contact me or Mike R.. We will play as soon as we can. If you have a date you want to play let me know and I will see how many players we can drum up.

I will post the Dates for Michigan as soon as I can.  If you know of ant other big games you would like to try out tell me and I will see what we can come up with.

Well gang... the 11th Annual Children of The Corn game has come and gone. What a night !!! Even though turnout was low the general opinion was that this was the best or one of the best night games we have ever put on. We got a lot of games in and it was a blast!!!

We had about 20-25 players so the point system was thrown out and the attacking team had only one objective...to get the glowstick tube in the house !! The scenario games time was 1 hour and then teams switched up.  The Green Team was commanded by "Godzilla" (aka Donnie) and the Orange Team was commanded by Major Kev (me). The Green Team attacked first and kicked the Orange teams butts in 13 minutes !!! 13 minutes !! Unbelievable !! For me it was embarrassing...(sigh).

The Orange Team attacked the second game and though it took longer than 13 minutes the Orange prevailed. I did have a moment of panic however. When I got into the house there were 6-7 Orange players in the house shooting through the windows at the Green team but they had forgotten about the glowstick tube !! We finally found it and game was over.

The fog machines rocked !!! There was fog everywhere !! Clear out to the interstate and in the staging area !! We also added a different look with some dry ice in the house too.

We played 3-4 games of attack/attack with glowsticks uncovered in the field and around the house. A couple of night time Civil War games were played too.

We then hit the speedball field for about 5-6 games with glowsticks uncovered. This was "Godzilla's" night to shine!!! Donnie had at least 4 kills per game and swept the field in his typical kamikaze fashion !! He was awesome and intimidating at the same time !!! He was unstoppable...period.

A very special thank you goes to the gang at Indy Acres !!! They treated us like family all night !! They supplied refs who kept the games well under control. They also supplied power so Mike could run his D.J. equipment and power up our large field lights so we could lighten the load on the generators. They also got us some extension cords when we ran short. Whatever equipment or supplies we needed they got AND brought out to the players at the staging area. They bent over backwards to make us feel welcome !!! Once again, thank you Scott, Dave and gang !!

Thanks also goes out to Dan B. for the use of his generator and to Marc R. for supplying the paint. Thanks  goes out to Mike R. for putting this night together and running the show even when it cut down on his playing time !!! This definitely was a great night !!!

The game will be held at Indy Acres Paintball field. Schedule of events and fees will be posted on the site and in team e-mails. Prices won't be much different from last year and we will be selling our paint at our usual price.

The 10th annual Tippmann World Challenge is history and those of us who went were not disappointed. The contact was hectic and fierce both days and the paint was flying!! With all those full autos on the field this was expected. I went through 4000 rds. myself !!!

We didn't have to go far either day to get into a fight...getting out of the fight when the situation got ugly was a different matter !!! There weren't many places to hold up and catch your breath either. They had also closed off most of the swamp due to high water from all the rain. For the first time that I can remember we had a serious mosquito problem. They were everywhere in large numbers !! They were even in our hotel rooms...very nice !!

At this point I don't know how many players showed up but I don't think there were as many as in years before. Regardless... it was a fun weekend. Those of us who went had a great time on the field and at the hotel........    except for the rumors of questionable behavior that reportedly involved a duck, 2 chickens, a hamster and an empty beverage container (sigh).   We were far from home, and some of us were lonely....  what can I say?  There were no witnesses so it's still just rumors....  right?

I want to thank Tony Lawrence, Jim Lawrence, Mike Sedam, Steve Shuffet, Bob Shuffet, and Li'l Boone (Brian) for making the trip up to Michigan and making this an enjoyable weekend. The rest of you guys have got to do this at least one time. You won't regret it !!

7-24-08

Well...the Summer Night Game is history. We had approximately 18 players on the field with just as many spectators watching and helping prepare the food.

The first game was 1 hour long and the winner was determined by a point scoring system. Troops were worth 10 points each. Each team had 2 Lts. worth 50 points each and team Captains were worth 100 points. There were 5 scoring objectives and scoring was totalled every 15 minutes and announced to the teams on the field to keep track of the point totals as well as the time left in the game. Eliminated players were reinserted at specific points to keep play going.

The Orange Team, commanded by Donnie M. (aka "Godzilla") prevailed and took the first game.

The second game had the same team members but with no score keeping or reinsertions. The big difference was the fact that players could not cover their glowsticks at any point of the game. This made it very interesting since players could not hide from each other. This game was won by the Green Team commanded by Major Kev.

A couple more games were played with different team members and some late comers. Also earlier in the evening ...right about dusk Marc R. organized a couple Civil War games and introduced some newbies to this wonderful arena of pain!!!

Between games there was plenty of food and drink for everyone and the food disappeared quickly. Ther was also a variety of music thanks to Mike R.

Thanks go out to Mike R. for putting on a great show and supplying the chow. He did the sound effects for the game and the music for the intermission. He also worked hard getting the field in playing condition after the tornados hit.

We need to thank Kerry, Nick, Andrew and Jeff for reffing and keeping score as well as handling the field equipment. Kerry handled the field lights and kept gas in the generators.

Thanks go out to Carla W. and Rick for helping with the food preparation and counting the scores for the first game.

Honorable mention goes to Dave H. and sons for coming out during the week and building about 4 bunkers.

As of this point there will be no open games scheduled. If you have an interest in playing contact me or Mike R. and if we can get enough players we will have a game. Mike will still be putting on party and private games at the field.

If you have any questions please contact me or Mike R..
